About Meter AI & Our Story

Meter AI was founded by Harsha Parisha, a software developer and active AI researcher. The extension was created out of personal frustration with the unpredictable usage limits of Claude.ai. As a developer building complex scripts and processing large log files, hitting sudden hourly limits or losing detailed thread context was a daily workflow interruption.

Why Meter AI Exists

We built Meter AI to restore transparency to LLM sessions. While Anthropic's interfaces are clean, they hide token counts and usage metrics. Meter AI provides full local visibility, predicting when your resets occur and alerting you before you hit the threshold. This allows power users, developers, and researchers to allocate their work volumes systematically.

Our Local-First Privacy Philosophy

We believe that your prompt histories and document contexts should never reside on third-party servers. All data parsed by the extension is calculated strictly in memory on your local machine, and saved inside your browser sandbox (`chrome.storage.local`). We collect zero telemetry and sell zero tracking metrics. Your data stays Yours.

Roadmap & Vision

Our focus is on expansion and cross-platform compatibility:

• Q3 2026: Advanced project-level budgeting features and multiple active session tracking tags.
• Q4 2026: Expanded browser options support, including Safari Extension and mobile tracking variants.
• Q1 2027: Direct integration with team-based admin portals and billing synchronization tools.
