What Happens After Install

Adding Meter AI to your browser requires no accounts, database sign-ups, or remote tracking. Once active, the extension runs entirely in the background, monitoring your active AI tabs and displaying usage indicators directly in your workspace.

Fitting Into Your Workflow

When you open a supported AI workspace (such as Claude.ai), Meter AI inserts a small, subtle usage progress bar and an alert trigger indicator at the top of the interface. This visual feedback updates continuously as you write messages or upload files, showing your active session status without blocking the screen or altering your workspace layouts.

Local Storage & Persistence

Your workspace metrics and settings remain stored on your machine. We use your browser's local sandbox to save warning thresholds, countdown preferences, and daily usage statistics. These configurations stay on your device and remain available the next time you open your browser.

Performance Expectations

Meter AI is designed to run quietly in the background without interrupting your workflow. Calculations are performed asynchronously, meaning page loading speeds and tab responsiveness remain unaffected. The resource usage is extremely low, keeping memory and processor demand negligible even during long, file-heavy AI sessions.

Platform Compatibility

The extension is fully compatible with standard Chrome-based web browsers. Here is what we support:

Platform / Browser Status & Compatibility
Google Chrome Fully supported. Installs directly via the Chrome Web Store.
Brave, Edge, Arc Fully compatible. Supports identical extensions running Chrome-based profiles.
Claude.ai Supported. Real-time context tracking and Context Bridge are fully active.
