Why Local-First Matters
Pasting proprietary codebase files, analyzing confidential spreadsheets, or discussing business strategies requires absolute data isolation. Designing a utility that relies on external database connections would compromise this isolation. Running calculations locally keeps your active workload private and protected.

All core settings and usage calculations remain in your local browser sandbox:

Data We Never Access
The extension is designed to completely ignore the content of your workspaces. We do not read, transmit, or monitor:
- Conversation content: The text of your prompts, notes, and messages.
- Uploaded documents: Source files, database exports, images, and codebase context.
- Browser history: Your activity, tabs, and sessions outside supported AI pages.
- Passwords: Input fields, login credentials, and session tokens.
- Personal information: Names, locations, and personal profiles.
Designed Around Browser Standards
Meter AI is built using the standard browser extension APIs provided by Chrome. It operates within the same security permission model used by extensions generally, and requests only the access required for its core features.

We request standard browser permissions to power the interactive parts of the utility. Here is what we request, what you gain, and how they behave in practice:

Payments & Licensing
After a purchase, Meter AI checks whether your license is active so premium features can be unlocked. Your conversations are never part of this verification process. All billing is handled securely through our verified payment gateway (Razorpay).

Does Meter AI send my conversations anywhere?
No. The extension operates locally. The content of your chat sessions never leaves your computer.
Do I need an account?
No. You can install Meter AI and use the core tracking features immediately without creating an account or registering an email.
What happens if I uninstall?
The browser completely removes all local settings, timers, and configuration files immediately upon uninstallation.
Why does it need browser permissions?
Only to store settings locally and show the progress indicator on the active AI page tab.
Can I clear everything?
Yes. You can clear your metrics history and local settings instantly via the extension's settings panel.
